With over 75 restaurants to select and to add on that list, La Bombonera perhaps might be a good place to start your vacation. Known for its home-style Puerto Rican soup, (Asopao) and typical Puerto Rican authentic dishes. And let's not forget the most delicious local made pastries made on the island.
After long years and diligent research on fine dining in San Juan, didn't take long to realize Cafe El was my most preferred dining place in San Juan. The ambiance and feeling as you walk inside says it all. The well-manicured art exhibits alongside the walls, you cannot help feeling so awed by the restaurant. The comforting atmosphere is obviously ebullient as it's well felt once you arrive at the Cafe El Punto.
Unlike any other place this wonderful Gem located in the heart of Old San Juan minutes away from the Port, has so much variety to choose from. The Popular Traditional Plantain dish we have all come to love, the Mofongo Plantain dish, the plantain mashed with a mahogany hardwood mortar and pestle called a pilon along pieces of Pork and garlic are added to enhance the rich flavors.
Once inside you can't help hearing the echoing sound of Puerto Rican folk music emanating from our host-singer Don Carlos, A true artist who often serenades the guest with traditional Popular folk music. Cafe El Punto is perhaps the place that offers the comfort and aura. Originally, started as a small "Kiosk" since 1992 selling an assortment of refreshments. The business further expanded until Cafe El Punto was finally born.
Imagine for just a second sitting in this charming and eloquent inviting place so captivating and adorned with beautiful paintings, your focus begins to swift marveling the Menu selection, The "Aguacato Stuffed with Shrimp" perhaps might. The Aguacato stuff with Shrimp was the first time my sister and I ever tried it, and yes, it was so incredibly Good!
